KARACHI: Taliban operative reveals the militant organization continues to use Karachi as a base for financing its reign of terror. During interrogation Ehsanullah Burki revealed he was tasked with sending Rs. 10 million to Waziristan for operation expenses.
Ehsanullah Burki was detained during a security forces operation in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area on Monday.
Following interrogation, during an interview with Geo News the detained operative revealed he was working at explosives factory in Waziristan while in Karachi he would work alongside Mufti Jawed, Khan Zaman and Qari Aalam – who remain at large.
The operative further revealed that the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP) has its central office in Baldia Town. He confirmed that funds are collected from Karachi and are sent to Waziristan, adding that he recently send Rs. 10 million.
